nervous

ARGHH! I quit biting my nails years ago

now, all of a sudden, it is back. This is something i rag and rag on Cam for, as he bites his till they bleed. I don't. just bite them (or peel them) to a short length, and only recently.

FUCK IT ANNOYS ME.

I got a manicure two weeks ago, maybe the flaking polish is bugging me. I will take it off in the shower in the AM. I hate nail polish remover (the scent, the texture, everything) so I only take it off in the shower where I can rinse it off ASAP.

What I did for blog action day....

I walked instead of drove. Happily, my 2 mile walk to therapy took me through Golden Gate Park. More to come on what I do daily to help the enviro.

Okay, I tried to upload photos but am getting an error message. Tomorrow.

Clearing my clutter with Feng Shui

Last week I went through my closet and sent a 15 lb box of clothes to my sister (Miss Jayne), now I am going through the storage stuff. I was hanging onto them in case I lost weight, but I would have to lose A LOT of weight to ever fit into them again. Size 0? Not anymore!

It is making me reminisce though, some of the clothes are from high school and I wore them regularly before putting into storage a year and a half ago.

They don't make good quality clothes like they used. One shirt I got used when I was 15, it is still in perfect shape. It's fun pulling out the old AC/DC shirts, now that Miss Jayne is getting deep into classic rock.

I also found a pair of 24" Joe's Jeans that I bought at Ross or the like for $3.99! They are red and white pin striped. I'm going to try to sell them. Tags still on.

Camillus (the boyfriend) used to have a 29" waist. Wow. It is supposedly bad karma to clear other's clutter, so I put aside a small pile of his things for him to go through. I know he will enjoy it, there are shirts from pubs in Ireland (that are 13+ years old, from before he moved here), shirts from the year he spent traveling in SE Asia, his backpack that went around the world and back.

I haven't seen this stuff in a year and a half, but it's very sweet to look through. I see things I wore on our first dates, the trousers Cam wore to our first Valentine's Day dinner.

I am amazed though, I left Iowa for North Carolina six years ago with ONE SUITCASE. Everything else I gave away or sold except for half a dozen small boxes which are buried in my dad's basement. Where did all this crap come from? It's time to pare down again. My life was never as simple as that summer in North Carolina.

Street Cleaning

The bane of my existence. And yet, a reason to get out of the house before 8 am. As it was, I was running down the street in two different shades of grey sweats, flip flops, splashing coffee everywhere. The very kind ticket writer let me go. Thank you for once, SFMTA.

The blogs I read late last night

Yeah, ever since the septuplets were born near my hometown, I have a *thing* for multiples. Thing meaning OMG how in Sam's Heck do they do it?

T's SIL is a twin nanny. That's her thing. She nannies twins. Mad props to all of these parents, and her. She now nannies a singleton, and I think she is at a loss.

Me personally? Give me siblings, or 4-6 non related kids, and I thrive. I was trained in day care, so a 6:1 ratio is okay, as long as they aren't mine!

Mental Dump

10/10/07

The rain came tonight.

I had a good morning – T needed me to do some work first thing, so he woke me in bed around 7 am with a cup of cappuccino from the Keurig. I cranked out the work, and still had time to wash my face, eat a healthy breakfast of yogurt, fruit and grain, relax and read some blogs, make a cup of tea, and head off to school early.

Driving down Park Presidio there was a major accident in the northbound lane. There were 10 rescue vehicles already, and more coming as I headed south. I said a little prayer and was thankful I was heading south.

I got to school 20 minutes early, so hiked from the reservoir to the third floor of the Science Hall to check my grade on the last homework assignment. My grades are getting better, I am now in the high C range. Good enough for me, as this is only based on 4 homework assignments, the first of which everyone bombed. They are weeding us out, they say.

Walked back down to the first floor and sat through the recap lecture of last week’s neuron lecture.

After class got out at 11:00 I needed to pee so badly but there is always a huge line in the Science building, so I scurried over to another building. WHEW. No line. Relief.

While I was there I decided to finally make it over to the health building. I have been meaning to do this for weeks, but usually I want to get off campus first thing after class. I had a great experience there and a nice chat with the coordinating nurse. I filled out my papers to get BC at CC instead of through my OB-GYN. It is much more convenient this way.

Then I went to the post office to mail a gift card to friend, and a 14 lb box of clothes to my sister.

By the time I got home it was 12:10. I was surprised to come home and find T on the sofa. He wasn’t feeling well, so I made him some leftover quiche and toast, and myself a lean pocket (oh the glory/sin of a lean pocket) and iced tea. Gobbled that down with 2 ibuprofen and 3 tums (pre-waxing pain killer). Stuck my hair in a shower cap and jumped in the shower as I had skipped that this AM. Scrubbed my nether regions. Made it to V’s suite by 1:00 for bikini waxing. Cringed and chatted through that. Nearly slept through a much needed facial. Waxed the brows. I also had a great talk with V about small business marketing as she just finished an intensive entrepreneur course on it. I always enjoy talking to her, she is such a strong woman and I find her business and T’s much on the same path.

After this I came home feeling rejuvenated. I booked T and I’s Turkey Day Cabo trip and booked my brother an early xmas gift trip to NJ for the birth of his child. In the midst of all of this (4-5 pm) I also prepped dinner. Carrot, celery, parsnip, onion, garlic, and potato in the crock pot. 2 slabs of pork shoulder, seared. Put it on, felt great.

All of a sudden, I felt ill. Cold, weak, queasy, and general feeling of OH SHIT THE WORLD IS GOING TO END. This went on for a few hours until I fell asleep on the sofa at 8 pm. Something in my bones was not right, I thought I was cold, but nothing I did would quell the feeling.

I woke this morning at 12 am and it was pouring rain, and that feeling had disappeared. Could the drastic change in weather really have affected me that much? I am of course wide awake now. I will go in a minute and have a cup of tea before hitting the sack for real. Tomorrow I will link the blogs I read in the meantime.

Sorry for the rambling. Sometimes I need a day in recap.
