Last week I went through my closet and sent a 15 lb box of clothes to my sister (Miss Jayne), now I am going through the storage stuff. I was hanging onto them in case I lost weight, but I would have to lose A LOT of weight to ever fit into them again. Size 0? Not anymore!
It is making me reminisce though, some of the clothes are from high school and I wore them regularly before putting into storage a year and a half ago.
They don't make good quality clothes like they used. One shirt I got used when I was 15, it is still in perfect shape. It's fun pulling out the old AC/DC shirts, now that Miss Jayne is getting deep into classic rock.
I also found a pair of 24" Joe's Jeans that I bought at Ross or the like for $3.99! They are red and white pin striped. I'm going to try to sell them. Tags still on.
Camillus (the boyfriend) used to have a 29" waist. Wow. It is supposedly bad karma to clear other's clutter, so I put aside a small pile of his things for him to go through. I know he will enjoy it, there are shirts from pubs in Ireland (that are 13+ years old, from before he moved here), shirts from the year he spent traveling in SE Asia, his backpack that went around the world and back.
I haven't seen this stuff in a year and a half, but it's very sweet to look through. I see things I wore on our first dates, the trousers Cam wore to our first Valentine's Day dinner.
I am amazed though, I left Iowa for North Carolina six years ago with ONE SUITCASE. Everything else I gave away or sold except for half a dozen small boxes which are buried in my dad's basement. Where did all this crap come from? It's time to pare down again. My life was never as simple as that summer in North Carolina.
